PostSubject: Forum Rules ™   Sun Nov 11, 2007 7:44 am

Please read the rules before posting, and report anyone who violates them. There are of course the rules set forth in the agreement everyone agreed to when they signed up which have a few notes about things we don't mention here.

General rules

1. The number 1 rule of all, if you love the artist of the forum, you are welcomed here. It does not matter what country you come from, what your religion or non religion is, whether you are male, female, old, young, or whatever, if you are a fan, this is the place for you. We are all fans in the forum and we are all equal here. In you're a fan of Miley and not a fan of Vanessa for example, you're not allowed to go to her part of the forum in Music Lovers and bash her either. If you are not a fan and have only come here to bash the artist, please leave now as we don't allow that on this forum. You'll only waste our time and your own time, there are plenty of other Hilary forums out there for you to terrorize.

2. No questions or ideas here are too stupid, so if you have any questions or ideas, please go ahead and post them

3. Bashing of other members is not allowed in anyway. For example, if someone posts a reason they love Miley, don't post that their reasons are no good. The same goes for look-a-likes in the gallery. If we find you excessively post negative harrassing comments towards others, you will be banned. There is nothing wrong with voting a low score for someone you don't feel looks like Miley, but you don't need to bash them and call them ugly or anything else. It's all just for fun. All visitors should feel welcomed here.

4. Along the lines of bashing, since we have a lot of non-English speaking visitors, do not no complain about or bash a member who mis-spells something or hasn't mastered the English language.

5. Freedom of speech is another thing posters sometimes bring up. On the MMW boards you have the right to speak your mind, but remember, this message board isn't America; it is the property of the owners of the site. If they dictate that certains things shouldn't be said, then on this board they shouldn't be said.

6. Swearing or the use of banned slang words is strictly prohibited. Sometimes a banned word is part of a bigger word, like "associate", though we've tried to correct most of those problems, so posting associate is fine. But adding this - or this * or anything else to make sure the banned word shows up on it's own is not tolerated. Those words usually do not promote friendliness. This rule mainly stands out to if your are using it against someone (a member, other celebrity e.t.c.)

7.The Administrator/Moderator decisions are final. Any argument reguarding a decision issued by these 2 groups will not be tolerated.
8. For any problem with an admin, a moderator, or a locked/deleted thread, Send a Private Message to one of the Admins/moderators. Do not Start a new thread about it.

9. If you are not sure of who the admins/mods are, then please visit the Members List

Posting rules

1. Try to at least find the appropriate place to make a post. For example, posting about Zac Efron doesn't belong in the Miley Chat section. If you're not sure where to post your thread, just try making the best decision, and If we'll think of a better place, we'll just move it to the right forum. If you posted in the wrong forum, although its perfectly clear what the right forum is, your thread might get locked or deleted. We do not tolerate people making daft choices just for the sake of it, but if you really dont know where to post a thread, PM an admin or mod.

2.Please try to stay on topic within the posts. Do not post something totally irrelevant to the current discusion within a post. Your post will most likely get deleted so that the discussion may continue on as before.

3.Thread Titles: When you start a new thread, try to pick the most descriptive title for the topic.
For example, a good title for a thread with a question about the lyrics in a Hilary song, would be "What is the chorus to Mr James Dean?" a bad one would be "need help!!".
The consequence for violation this rule, would be getting a warning by one of the mods, and if it will happen again, the thread will get locked.

4.Double Threads: Before starting a new topic, please try a quick search to see if your question wasn't already asked.
Double Threads would get locked/deleted by an admin/mod.

Signatures:

* Appropiate content
* Total file size of the images you post can't be over 150KBs (Which is 153600 Bytes)
* The width x height of your signature has to be around 750x300. Typically it would mean only 1 banner in your signature + Text and smilies. (Signature Example)

Gallery rules

1. Before uploading a picture, make sure that picture hasnt already been uploaded.

2. The gallery is for the specific artists pictures only. Ofcorse you are welcome to post pics of the artist with other celebrities, but like rule 1 says, make sure they havent been posted.

3. Please try to post pictures in the right catergorey. A pic of say, Learning to fly (cover e.t.c.) would not go in a cat such as fanart e.t.c. If you are not sure where to post a picture, PM a mod/admin and ask.

4. If you see a picture has been posted, all though you have a better quality version of it, PM an admin/mod and we'll change it.

Spam and Private Message Rules

- PMs are for private communication only. Posting PMs anywhere on the boards is prohibited.

- PMs are not an ad freeway. If you are a visitor from another site, please do not use PMs as a means to tell our users to check out another site.

- Likewise, advertising sales such as on Ebay through PMs is not allowed.

- PMs are private, but that doesn't give you the right to verbally harass another user through PMs. If you were sent a harassing PM or any PM that goes against the rules, PM a mod and they'll take care of it for you.

*SPAM is not allowed in this forum. If you are here to only promote or advertise something, turn around now. Your posts will be deleted. We're talking about blatant SPAM, where you are being paid or stand to benefit from your promotion. If you just tell people about your personal site and you are active in other discussions, you have nothing to worry about. By active we mean you have been a member for a bit and have at least 50 good posts prior to posting a link. And please post the links in the 'Other' discussion and only promote your link once, not in every one of your posts. And pm'ing your link to members who did not ask for it will be considered as SPAM and you will be banned immediately.

*Other Spamming is also not allowed. What is spamming? Spamming is the act of posting generally useless or offtopic posts or threads. Likewise, one word posts such as "yup" or "lol" can be considered spam as well if done repeatedly.
Do not use this type of spamming just to get more posts and a higher rank. The point of ranks aren't to see who can spend the most time posting numbers, but actually post thoughts, questions, ideas, stories, and other stuff about Hilary and other things

So that's it. A few simple rules, basically don't use vulgar words, don't bash other members, don't SPAM, and be friendly to everyone here. Think before you post. Easy right? They're mostly common sense. So stick to those and we will all have a great time here.

If you have any questions regarding the rules, PM an admin or mod and tell!
